It Hurts Me Too

Releasing on all platforms Friday 17th April 2026.

Mick writes:

Here's a song that I've been playing onstage forever, first on numerous South London blues jams back in the 70s, then with our band SALT and then the MC Band, plus recording a live version with SALT at the fabled Bridge House, Canning Town, and featuring the track on my first solo album 'Looking For Trouble'.

So I thought I'd do it again. I just fancied it.. well a good song is a good song.. ask Elmore. And I wanted to give my Les Paul a good outing so the two came together.

Back in the blues jam days, one wag used to refer to the song amusingly as 'It Hurts My Toe'. These days my toes hurt most of the time along with the rest of me, so it's finally found it's time.. Elmore James: It Hurts My Toe.

Mick Clarke - It Hurts Me Too You say you're hurting
You almost lost your mind
Now the man you love
He hurt you all the time
When things go wrong
Go wrong with you
It hurts me too

You love him more
When you should love him less
you pick up behind him
And take his mess
When things go wrong
Go wrong with you
It hurts me too

He loves another woman
And I love you
But you love him
you stick to him like glue
When things go wrong
Go wrong with you
It hurts me too

you better leave him
you better put him down
Because I can't stand
To see you pushed around
When things go wrong
Go wrong with you
It hurts me too
