I'm Satisfied With You

Mick writes:

I'm a huge Hank Williams fan - his stuff is Corny Country but it has a solid ring of truth to it. He's been described by some as a white blues man.. I totally agree.

So here's one of his probably lesser known songs which I've always liked. His version is a bit more poppy, in the style of the time, but I've bluesed it up a bit.

The rhythm section is sticks on a cardboard box.. a crate of wine as I remember. Any excuse for a touch of the old Peggy Sue. Guitar on my 1930s Harmony as shown in the artwork, and a touch of Mandolin.

I love the track and I hope you enjoy it. One kind Youtube reviewer has already made his pronouncement: 'Perfect for a pick me up' .. couldn't agree more.

Mick Clarke - I'm Satisfied With You Y ou don't dress up in satin
You don't wear diamond rings
But I'm satisfied with you
You look just like an angel but you ain't got no wings
And I'm satisfied with you

I'd rather have you just the way that you are
Than change you for somebody new
Maybe I could do better if I reached for a star
But I'm satisfied with you

You're not made out of candy
But you're as sweet as can be
So I'm satisfied with you
I just can't see no reason why you bother with me
But I'm satisfied with you

I often wonder if it's all a mistake
It's hard to believe that it's true
But If I'm only dreaming, I sure don't want to wake
'Cause I'm satisfied with you

I'm satisfied with you
