Homework

The dog ate my homework. Our dog actually did eat my homework.. the illustration here, although a stock photo, is actually a very good representation of what I came downstairs to that morning. I'll never forget the expression on the history teacher's face when I told him. He always hated me anyway.
'Homework' was a single released by the great Otis Rush. I have not tried to imitate Mr. Rush here - that would be a pointless and fruitless endeavour. And it has been done reasonably well by greater musicians than myself.
The song was actually written by Al Perkins who did several versions of it himself in a wide variety of arrangements. So there is really no definitive version.
I just dived in and made it up as I went along - I was as surprised as anyone with what came out. I'd describe it as a 60s Mod Rave-Up with a touch of Zeppelin. Very odd, but I do like it.
So here's my version of the classic 'Homework', dedicated to the memory of ol' 'Baron' the leftover from Battersea Dogs Home who even the police wouldn't take off us! Happy days.
